The development history of Chinese scaffolding
Before 1949 and the early 1950s in China, the construction of scaffolding used bamboo or wood. The fastener-type steel pipe scaffolding was introduced in the 1960s. Since the 1980s, China has made remarkable achievements in the development of advanced and multi-functional scaffolding series, such as portal scaffolding series and bowl-buckle steel pipe scaffolding series. The annual output has reached tens of thousands of tons, and there have been a certain number of Export.
For a long time, due to the relatively backward state of the erection tool itself, its structural technology and the use of safety management work, the occurrence rate of accidents is high. Relevant statistics indicate that about one-third of the casualties that occur in China's construction system each year are directly or indirectly related to problems with erection tools and their use.
With the increasing maturity and improvement of the Chinese construction market, bamboo and wood scaffolding has gradually been eliminated from the construction market, and is still used in some remote and backward areas; while portal scaffolding and bowl-buckle scaffolding are only used in municipalities and bridges. In engineering applications, ordinary fastener-type steel pipe scaffolds occupy more than 70% of China's domestic market due to its simple maintenance, long service life and low investment costs, and have a large development space.
